I have wanted to start a blog for many years and never found the time or made it a priority. One of my goals for this summer was to start one. Now I can check this off my to do list!
I can’t believe the summer has already come to an end. Where does the time go?? I feel like it was just yesterday and we were getting ready for our last wedding of the 2015/2016 season. What an incredible wedding at the W South Beach for dear friends that were also celebrating their 10 year anniversary together. I had so many big plans for this summer for Carrie Zack Events. I had projects that were pushed to the side waiting for me, new projects I wanted to complete and a ton of catching up to do.
As I was casually going through emails one day, I saw yet another long email from someone looking for a summer internship. At first I ignored it and kept scrolling, but then for some reason I decided to go back and read it. As I continued to read through the email, I was so impressed at how organized and detailed it was. What I was most excited about was that this prospective summer intern lived just down the street from me!
To make a long story very short, I hired this ambitious and loyal intern, she has worked tirelessly all summer long 5 days a week or more running errands, shopping, typing, organizing, reaching out to vendors, accompanying me on meetings, samples and tastings, driving me to Palm Beach and endless hours revising timelines and vendors lists until the early hours of the morning.
My “neighbor” / “intern” extrordinaire was able to get a two month crash course in planning events and weddings being front and center for her summer break and I have now completed almost all of the items on my summer to do list. Because of her I am able to start this 2016/2017 season more organized, prepared and excited then I ever have been before!
My first of many more posts to come; I am looking forward to collaborating and working with all of my industry partners and friends on what looks like a very fun and rewarding season and can’t wait for next summer when my intern comes back as a full time assistant to join the CZE team.
